ॐ नमः प्रणवार्थाय शुद्धज्ञानैक मूर्तये ।
निर्मलाय प्रशान्ताय दक्षिणामूर्तये नमः ॥
Om namaḥ praṇavārthāya śuddhajñānaika mūrtaye
nirmalāya praśāntāya dakṣiṇāmūrtaye namaḥ
Salutations to the embodiment of Praṇava (Om)
the personification of the pure, non-dual knowledge,
stainless and tranquil,
salutations to Śrī Dakṣinamurti
(an aspect of Lord Śiva as a Guru)

योगेन चित्तस्य पदेन वाचां
मलं शरीरस्य च वैद्यकेन ।
योऽपाकरोत् तं प्रवरं मुनीनां
पतञ्जलिं प्राञ्जलिरानतोऽस्मि ॥
yogena cittasya padena vācāṃ
malaṃ śarīrasya ca vaidyakena
yo'pākarot taṃ pravaraṃ munīnāṃ
patañjaliṃ prāñjalirānato'smi
I offer salutation with folded hands
to the noblest in the lineage of sages
Maharṣi Patanjali,
who removed impurity
from the mind through yoga,
from speech through grammar,
and from the body through medicine.
